Recreational Riding around Ottawa

There was a time when we too would gather a gang together, pile in the old beater, chip in for gas, and head off to the local trail riding stables on a Saturday or Sunday for some quality horse time.

Trail riding is just that. You show up, they rent you a horse, you mount up, and ride out of the yard, down the trails, across the fields, sometimes into creeks, for a couple of hours. Mostly the horses are docile creatures, know more about the terrain over which they ride than you will ever know, and after your time as a “cowboy” you’ll head back, smelling a little horsey, and if like us, head to the local restaurant for some hot brunch.
